Sustainability

At Marine Collagen we are committed to conducting all of our operation with respect for the environment using sustainable practises. Marine gelatine and collagen peptides are produced from the skin of cod that was previously discarded or used for low value products. By creating value from waste we are increasing the sustainability of the fishing industry and promoting responsible use of marine resources.

Energy

Iceland is located on the mid-Atlantic Ridge over a geological hot spot. This unique geography allows for plentiful production of renewable energy from various sources so that almost 100% of all electricity production in Iceland comes from renewable sources.

Marine Collagen production facilities are located in the Reykjanes Resource Park. The concept was developed to foster a “society without waste” through interdisciplinary co-operation of the wide range of businesses within the park.
